From your first visit to returning to work
Call 978-969-3624 and you can usually be seen the same day or the next day. Dr. McLaughlin sees every patient himself. He examines the injury and, for many shoulder injuries, can check for a rotator cuff tear with diagnostic ultrasound in the office, many times avoiding the need for an MRI. Treatment can often begin at the first visit. If you need an MRI or physical therapy, expedited options are available. If surgery is needed, Dr. McLaughlin operates in Beverly, at Beverly Hospital (Lahey) and New England Surgery Center.
After the exam, Dr. McLaughlin explains the diagnosis and the treatment plan, which may include injections, physical therapy and rehabilitation, or surgery. The office sends visit notes and your work status to your adjuster as you recover and work toward returning to your job.
