Robert E. McLaughlin II, MD is board certified in Orthopedic surgery and sports medicine and has over 25 years of experience. He earned his medical degree at the University of Virginia School of Medicine in 1997, completed his internship at Pennsylvania Hospital and his residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, and completed a sports medicine fellowship at Mississippi Sports Medicine. He was named a Boston Magazine Top Doctor in 2025 and 2026, a peer-nominated recognition. His clinical focus is shoulder arthroscopy, shoulder replacement and the upper extremity. He holds surgical privileges at Beverly Hospital (Lahey) and New England Surgery Center, Beverly. He is fluent in Spanish and can examine and speak with Spanish-speaking clients directly.
